Ski Bees Gives Back!

The Ski Bees community has been a generous supporter of various charities for the past 15 years and will continue to be. in 2024 $2000. was raised at our fall Pub Nights, members generously donated to the Collingwood Hospital and the Ski Racer Bursary. Over the years we have fundraised at a Golf Day held at the beautiful 4 Seasons Golf and Country Club which is owned by Ski Bees member Karen Simpson, and the annual Uxbridge/Stouffville Bus Heart and Stroke Wednesday.  Our members and sponsors have generously raised well over $27,000 over the years. In the past we have directed our contributions to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Collingwood General and Marine Hospital, Camp Oochigeas,  Parkinson Society – Durham Region Chapter, Kawartha-Haliburton Children’s Foundation, the Brain Tumour Foundation, The Tracy Stewart Foundation, The Olympic Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society and Prostate Cancer Canada, and our ski Racer Bursary. We believe it is important to not only give back to our community in general but also to our ski community in particular, and we thank all of our members for their generosity and kindness. Our annual Charity founded by Caroline and Mike Casey.

With this in mind and after being inspired by Nancy Greene-Raine’s similar initiative in her Sun Peaks community, Caroline and Mike Casey have created the Ski Bees Student/Athlete Ski Racing Bursary which will be awarded each fall to a young upcoming skier who exemplifies dedication, determination, a solid work ethic an excellent attitude and a commitment to balancing school with their athletic pursuits.

Hello from Saas Fee, Switzerland to all the Ski Bee's . I am currently training with the National Ski Academy (NSA) where I am in my second year of U16. I had an awesome year last year. I trained hard and made it to my first U16 Nationals in Tremblant. This Spring I had the opportunity to travel to Hemsedal, Norway and participate in the SKISTAR Winter Games representing Canada and making new Norwegian friends. I am excited for the coming winter and I have been working hard in the gym and now on the slopes here in Switzerland.
Thank you so much for supporting me in my pursuit of my dream of being the best ski racer I can!
Check out my new hat...Queen Bee just found it the other day here in Sass Fee.
