Annual Hike & BBQ at Top of the Valley Farm
Beaver Valley, near Kimberley, Ontario

We’re excited to invite Ski Bees members to our annual Hike & BBQ at Top of the Valley Farm. Join us for an afternoon on the trails, followed by a relaxed afternoon with good food and great company.

Arrive early at 1:30 PM if you’d like to join the hike, meet at the farm to organize car pooling,

Social and BBQ to follow, begin at 4:00 PM.

If you plan on hiking, please RSVP to the hiking event as well—so we don’t head out without you!

This year, we’ll enjoy a guided hike along the “Two Bridges” trail (about 4 km). While it’s rated easy, keep in mind it’s a single-track dirt path with stones, roots, and some hills—so you’ll likely break a sweat! The trail has a special place in our hearts, as it was a favourite daily walk with our family dog for many years.

After the hike, we’ll gather for a BBQ.

What to Bring:

Your own beverages (BYOB)

We will supply the burgers and desert, if you wish, bring a pot luck appetizer.

A chair for relaxing after the hike and BBQ

you may get a chill after hiking, bring a warm layer to enjoy the BBQ

Elevation, it is hilly!

2027 Wednesday Snow School Registration (13 Jan 2027)

GROUP LESSONS ARE ON WEDNESDAY

Lesson Times: 10:30 - 12:00 and/or 1:00 - 2:30. Half day people will be contacted with information as to the time slot in which your group will be starting at. After the first three lessons, morning and afternoon classes along with their pro, will swap. This makes it so all half day groups can have morning classes for half the program. If lessons are postponed for a week due to weather, please keep an additional week available on your calendar as a back up date.

Intermediate Blue runs - SLOW

Slopes: Blue runs, mainly groomed, obviously some mixed conditions depending on the day. These skiers are usually slower parallel skiers who are newer to skiing. Turns are started in either a small wedge or wide track parallel depending on the terrain, conditions and confidence. A class for slower intermediate parallel skiers comfortable on blues.

Intermediate Blue runs - Experienced

This is for people who have skied for many years however they find they are slowing down, perhaps have had a joint replacement and want to go slower with some tips to keep the day fun. Easy does it with this group as they want to keep skiing, gain confidence, however they don't want to be dare devils.

Intermediate Blue runs - FAST

Slopes: All types of Blue runs. These skiers have confidence and speed on Blue runs and want to develop skills to adjust to the daily conditions and learn how to tackle more challenging runs when conditions are right. A class for faster intermediate parallel skiers who are comfortable on blues.

Advanced Slope Skiers

All Blue runs in mixed conditions & some Black runs that are looking good. For skiers who are comfortable on all blue runs and some black. Would like to improve skills so they can tackle more black runs with confidence. Introducing various turn shapes and tactics for all conditions. This class is for strong parallel skiers.

Expert Slopes

All slopes & all conditions. Our top class. Dynamic parallel skiers. Comfortable all over the hill, but also looking to challenge themselves & improve technique in varying turn shapes, bumps, powder, hard packed and at higher speeds. This class is for expert parallel skiers.

CSIA Course Prep

Planning on taking a CSIA course in March? This will help you to prepare, taught by a CSIA Course Conductor.
